NEIGHBORHOOD Centrally located not far from Motorgueil market, the apartment is on the edge of the old red light district of Paris. So dont be surprised if there is a slight atmosphere of « Irma la Douce » (the 1963 comedy starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine, directed by Billy Wilder) floating in the air, despite the numerous cafés and restaurants as well as the primary school at the end of the street that proves this is a safe area.
The nearby pedestrian market at Montorgueil has a village atmosphere with numerous food shops and restaurants that will delight lovers of fine food. Within 5 to 10 minutes walk is the Pompidou as well as the Marais with its numerous museums. Also within easy walking distance are the beautiful gardens of the Palais Royal or the bustling shopping centre at Les Halles.
